Product Description
In its quest for the best performance in every class, Primare has chosen a level of component quality and layout which is straight from the top drawer. This means that Primare's entry-level standard, as represented by the CD21 is well in advance of its peers and endowed with characteristically natural sound quality, bullet-proof build, reliability and very cool Scandinavian aesthetics.CD21 is designed for very low digital and mechanical noise from input to output. Its transport, which has been re-engineered by Primare for smooth and silent operation, is used by the award-winning CD31 player. The bit stream is sent directly to a DIR1703 receiver, chosen for its jitter-suppression capabilities. From the receiver the signal is stripped of residual noise by balanced conversion through twin Burr-Brown PCM 1738 DACs per channel to the output. To further reduce noise the CD21's huge R-CORE transformer has eight separate windings for transport, digital and analogue sections. Outputs include analogue, coaxial, optical and XLR digital outputs as well as RS-232 for home automation and an IR input.
